Leah is the current Secretary of the Board and she joined in December 2020. For more than 13 years, Leah has been a communications professional in various settings, including non-profit and higher education. Currently, Leah is the Communications Manager for MSU Culinary Services, representing dining and hospitality locations on campus. In

For more than 13 years, Leah has been a communications professional in various settings, including non-profit and higher education. Currently, Leah is the Communications Manager for MSU Culinary Services, representing dining and hospitality locations on campus. In addition to working at the institution, she is pursuing a master's degree from MSU in Strategic Communication. She and her husband, Jesse, moved to the neighborhood in 2015. They love living in Wood Valley with supportive and friendly neighbors, and enjoy spending time with their 5-year-old daughter, Aviana.

Zack joined the Board of Directors in June 2019 and is the current Treasurer. He is a licensed Michigan attorney (2011) and also admitted to various federal courts. He is currently an Assistant Attorney General in the Labor Division at the Michigan Department of Attorney General. Previously, he worked as an associate attorney at a large M
Zack joined the Board of Directors in June 2019 and is the current Treasurer. He is a licensed Michigan attorney (2011) and also admitted to various federal courts. He is currently an Assistant Attorney General in the Labor Division at the Michigan Department of Attorney General. Previously, he worked as an associate attorney at a large Michigan law firm practicing real estate and banking law, and was also a Presidential Management Fellow with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Zack graduated from MSU Law in 2011 and from the University of Michigan in 2008. He is an avid baseball and football fan, and enjoys fantasy sports and stand-up comedy. Zack appreciates the tranquility of the Haslett community and the friendliness of the Wood Valley subdivision, where he lives with his two sons.

Dan is currently a Trustee of the Wood Valley Homeowners Association. He has served on the Board of Directors since October 2020. A graduate of Haslett High School, Dan has lived in the Haslett area for almost his entire life. He works for the Michigan Water Environment Association. Dan and his wife Allison moved into the Wood Valley neig

A graduate of Haslett High School, Dan has lived in the Haslett area for almost his entire life. He works for the Michigan Water Environment Association. Dan and his wife Allison moved into the Wood Valley neighborhood in the summer of 2017. They love seeing how family-oriented and festive the neighborhood can be, as well as how many dog lovers there are. You may see him walking his two dogs, Puddles and Tippy, around the neighborhood; feel free to wave and say hi!

Julia joined the Wood Valley Board of Directors in April 2026. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in History from Michigan State University and a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from Wayne State University. Julia currently works as a librarian at Michigan State University, where she specializes in government information. In

Julia currently works as a librarian at Michigan State University, where she specializes in government information. In 2022, Julia, her husband Michael, and daughter Katherine, moved to Wood Valley. They quickly grew to appreciate the warm friendliness of the neighborhood and especially enjoy taking family walks together throughout the community.

Jessica joined the Wood Valley Board of Directors in June 2026 and is focused on community events, helping plan activities that bring neighbors together and foster a strong sense of community.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology from Michigan State University and has worked at State of Fitness in Lansing for more than 15 years, where she serves as a manager and personal trainer.
Jessica, her husband, Chad, their two daughters, and two dogs moved to the Wood Valley neighborhood at the end of 2024 after living in Haslett for 10 years. They have loved becoming part of the community and especially appreciate the sidewalks, smooth roads, streetlights, friendly neighbors, countless dogs, and beautiful natural surroundings that make Wood Valley such a wonderful place to call home.
Outside of work, Jessica enjoys staying active, baking, spending time outdoors with her family, and tackling creative hobbies like embroidery (she's still learning!) and crocheting. She's known for her sarcastic sense of humor, loves a good laugh, and will never pass up an opportunity to dance.
